Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes how Shane Buchan (“I,” “me,” or “my”) collects, uses, discloses, and retains personal information obtained through shanebuchan.com (the “Site”), including the design-partner intake form and the contact form. By submitting information through the Site, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy. Questions regarding this Policy may be directed to shane@buchan.io.

1. Information I Collect

I collect the personal information that you voluntarily provide when you submit a form on the Site. Through the design-partner intake form, I collect your name, email address, your company or organization, and the responses you provide regarding how your team works and its use of artificial-intelligence tools. Through the contact form, I collect your name, email address, the subject of your message, and the contents of that message. I do not collect this information unless you choose to submit it.

I also use a privacy-oriented, cookieless analytics service (Vercel Web Analytics) that records aggregated, non-identifying usage information, such as the pages viewed and general device and country information. This service does not set cookies and does not track you across other websites.

2. How I Use Information

I process the personal information you provide in order to: (i) evaluate and respond to design-partner inquiries and communicate with you regarding early access; (ii) receive and respond to messages submitted through the contact form; and (iii) operate, maintain, and improve the Site. I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it for advertising purposes.

3. Disclosure to Service Providers

I disclose personal information to third-party service providers that process it on my behalf and in accordance with my instructions. Design-partner submissions are stored in a private Google spreadsheet, for which Google LLC acts as a processor. Email messages, including contact-form messages and any fallback delivery of a design-partner submission that cannot be written to the spreadsheet, are transmitted through Resend, Inc., an email service provider acting as a processor. I do not otherwise disclose your personal information except as required by law or as reasonably necessary to protect my legal rights.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your information is stored within the third-party services identified above and within my email account and any related notes I maintain while evaluating design partners. It is not published anywhere. I take reasonable measures to safeguard personal information; however, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee its absolute security.

5. Data Retention

I retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy. When it is determined that there is no fit, or upon your request, I will delete your information from the spreadsheet, my email, and my notes, subject to any retention required by law.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You may request to access, correct, or delete the personal information I hold about you at any time by emailing shane@buchan.io. You are not required to use any form on the Site; you may contact me directly by email instead. I will respond to verified requests within a reasonable period.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 18, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided me with personal information, please contact me so that I may delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

I may update this Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date, and your continued use of the Site following the posting of such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
